Creating a Winning Attitude
Success in your new career begins with success in your new program. This exciting endeavor is an opportunity to work on increasing your self-esteem, learning new skills and becoming ready for the reality of a career. No matter what your past experience have been, this experience is a new opportunity for you to be successful.
Your new education plan has a picture of success at the end. How are you going to make it down that road to graduation? You will take it one step at a time. All you need to do is open to the suggestions you find, try them on once or twice and see how they work for you. The first guideline for success is to have a winning attitude – and the first step towards having a winning attitude is to think positively.
To be successful, you must have faith in yourself. If you believe in what you want to accomplish, you are more likely to achieve those goals with a positive attitude. Therefore, you must be sure to tell yourself that you are going to be successful in your new career. The importance of positive outlook cannot be stressed enough. A direct correlation exists between the amount of positive energy you have and the success you will achieve. Think of it this way: If you have a positive outlook on what you are trying to accomplish, you are more likely to believe that you can do it: this means that you will spend less time coming up with reasons why you will not be able to do it and fretting about how you are going to feel when you fail. Negativity requires a lot of energy, as it keeps you constantly thinking and being afraid. That same energy can be better spent accomplishing the tasks that will assist you in reaching your goals.
Henry ford said its best, “If you think you can, you are right; if you think you can’t, you are right”
