Asher College’s Pharmacy Technician program is a Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) recognized education/training program, and Asher College is an ASHP-accredited school.* Upon completion of the 11-month program, graduates will be prepared to test for their Pharmacy Technician certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) and apply for state licensure with the state’s Board of Pharmacy.
Asher College’s Pharmacy Technician program is designed to prepare students with the practical skills and critical theoretical knowledge necessary for entry-level employment as pharmacy technicians. The Pharmacy Technician program includes an externship at a community pharmacy, allowing students to apply their skills and gain practical experience in a real-world environment while under professional supervision.
Students in Asher College’s Pharmacy Technician certificate program learn how to:

- Understand brand, generic, and OTC (over the counter) medications

Asher College’s Pharmacy Technician certificate program can be completed in as few as 11 months! Students interested in a more comprehensive educational program may choose to pursue an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Degree, which includes additional general education courses, including Critical Thinking, Business Math, and Business Communication. AAS Degree students may test for their Pharmacy Technician certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), apply for state licensure with the state’s Board of Pharmacy, and begin working in their field while still finishing up the additional courses for the degree.
