Asher Receives Military Spouse-Friendly Award!
Asher College is proud to be a strong supporter of our nation’s veterans, but we know those who serve are not the only ones who sacrifice. We are so excited to announce Asher has once again been recognized with a 2021-2022 Military Spouse Friendly® School award! At Asher, we are committed to serving military spouses, and we facilitate scholarships specifically designed to assist military spouses in reaching their education and career goals. Military spouses and families must often move frequently, and this can make it difficult for them to obtain the education they desire or maintain employment in a career they truly care about. Research shows that 85% of military spouses want or need to work. They also want to have fulfilling careers that can follow them as they move. At Asher, our programs are designed to train students for careers that are in-demand all across the country, jobs that you can do anywhere. Programs including Medical Billing and Coding (10 months), Pharmacy Technician (11 months), Office Accounting (10 months), and Business Administration (18 month degree program), are perfect for military spouses who want to train for a career that they can do wherever they live.
Military spouses need and deserve support in order to reach their education and career goals. At Asher, we believe in providing this support, and we are so proud that each of Asher’s three campus locations, Sacramento, Dallas, and Las Vegas, were recognized with 2021-22 Military Spouse Friendly® awards. The Military Friendly® School list is created annually by VIQTORY, a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB) founded in 2001. VIQTORY is not a part of or endorsed by the U.S. Department of Defense or any government entity, but is a private company with a mission to connect the military community to civilian employment, educational and entrepreneurial opportunities through it’s G.I. Jobs® and Military Friendly® brands.
Asher College has been chosen as a Military Spouse Friendly school because of the wide range of veterans education benefits we offer, including the My Career Advancement Account (MyCAA) scholarship, a scholarship specifically designed for military spouses. The My Career Advancement Account (MyCAA) scholarship is a part of the U.S. Department of Defense’s Spouse Education and Career Opportunities (SECO) program. The SECO program aims to increase military spouses’ education and career opportunities, and support military spouses’ ability to expand their portfolios, receive equitable pay, increase their transferable skills and find the careers that matter to them. Through the MyCAA scholarship, eligible military spouses may receive up to $4,000 of tuition assistance. In order to be eligible for the MyCAA scholarship, you must be a high school graduate, and your spouse’s current military standing must meet the requirements. Asher College is proud to participate in the My Career Advancement Account (MyCAA) scholarship program for military spouses who qualify. In order to qualify for the MyCAA scholarship, Asher College had to apply and meet the Department of Defense’s requirements. To participate, schools must be accredited nationally or regionally by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Asher College is accredited through ACCET, the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training. Accreditation is a guarantee that the training and education you receive meet national standards, and the programs in which you are enrolled meet industry standards.
