Comp TIA A+
Did you know that 11% of all job openings are for IT positions? According to CompTIA, a worldwide leader in Information Technology training, education, and certification, more than one in ten job openings are now in the IT field. If you’ve ever thought about joining this growing field; maybe now is the time to pursue a training and certification opportunity that can lead you to a rewarding career in the tech sector. For students interested in pursuing careers in the IT field, the CompTIA A+ certification is the place to start.
The CompTIA A+ certification is widely recognized as the best way to demonstrate that an individual has learned the foundations of PC support and administration. Job applicants with this certification demonstrate to their potential employer that they hold the necessary IT skills and a dedication to continued learning and training. Many corporations and government agencies encourage employees to hold the CompTIA A+ certification. When it was first developed in 1993, the CompTIA A+ certification was considered revolutionary, because it was vendor-neutral, not tied to any one manufacturer and their products. Today, the CompTIA A+ certification is still considered the industry-standard for entry-level tech careers.
Asher College is a proud partner with CompTIA, allowing us to provide our students with the highest level of tech education available, and certification exams right on campus. The CompTIA A+ certification is the preferred qualifying credential for entry-level technical support and IT operational roles. The A+ certification is about more than just PC repair, it also demonstrates an individual’s ability to troubleshoot and problem solve issues, understand a wide variety of issues ranging from networking and operating systems to mobile devices and security.
At Asher, the PC Technician program is designed to be an introduction to the IT world, and prepares students to successfully pass the CompTIA A+ certification exam. The PC Tech program teaches students basic hardware and computer repair skills, and graduates will be able to build and repair a computer, install, configure, and maintain a variety of Windows operating systems in a stand-alone, workgroup, and domain environment. Upon completion of the program, graduates are prepared for and encouraged to test for the CompTIA A+ certification.
Asher College prepares students for successful careers in the IT world through several other programs as well, including the Computer and Network Technician, PC Support Specialist, IT Network Engineer, and more. As an Academy Partner of CompTIA, Asher College’s IT programs trains students for several levels of certification, including CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Linux.
