If you are naturally inclined to computers and technology, and find them fascinating, then a career in Information Technology (IT) could be an excellent choice for you! IT professionals are the individuals who install, troubleshoot, and repair computers and their networks. In today’s technological world, businesses small and large depend upon computers, and IT professionals, more than ever. IT Professionals are in high demand! The United States Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) expects employment in IT professions will grow by 13% in the coming years, faster than the average for all occupations, and account for 577,100 new jobs in the U.S. by 2026.

Careers in Information Technology pay well too! The BLS states that the average income for computer and information technology occupations was $84,580, significantly higher than the median annual wage for all occupations. IT professionals that know coding and programming command an even higher rate of pay; jobs that require these skills pay as much as $22,000 per year more than jobs that do not.
